"The sanctions UEFA imposed on Jose Mourinho after his false accusations against Barcelona and the ill-fated referee Anders Frisk last season clearly did not work."

"Chelsea's manager was at it again after his team had lost the home leg of their tie with the Catalan club last Wednesday, questioning the ability of any Champions League referee to officiate fairly in matches against Barcelona and, even more scandalously, calling the 18-year-old Lionel Messi a cheat."

"Barcelona as ''a city where they have theatres of high quality'' and saying of Messi: ''The boy has learned very well.'' If you are going to make jokes about the integrity of football, you have to be funnier than that. And Mourinho has not learned at all."

"UEFA should therefore punish him again. Not least because, while we all love a bit of knockabout, all too many members of Mourinho's public take him at face value."

"If Mourinho stated that the moon were made of cheese, there would soon be several thousand Chelsea regulars jumping up at it, trying to hack off chunks - while the others went off in search of biscuits and a jar of pickle. So those who travel to the Camp Nou will no doubt continue their jeering of poor Messi."

"Anyway, Mourinho would be wiser to ask himself why he was not clever enough, given that Messi is, in effect, a left-footed right-winger who almost invariably moves inside, to employ a right-footed left-back. In other words, to have put Paulo Ferreira in that position from the start rather than Del Horno. True, I thought of that only once Del Horno had got into difficulties. But I am not on £5.2 million a year, basic."

e a palhaçada continua !
